The hotel houses photos of Rana the Prime Minister and his activities and family. Objects and materials of historical significance are seen. The event hall looks spacious and well organized. The staff are friendly. Wheelchair access and parking are provided. Necessary arrangements have been made to play the game. It felt clean and good.

Chef was very helpful to provide food as per taste. Rooms was neat and clean and they use to clean everyday. Last but not the least, staff here is very helpful and welcome with a bright smile.

The hotel is centrally located. It takes only 15 mins to reach the hotel in off peak hours but during the peak hours of traffic it may take much longer. The ambience of the hotel is very warm and nice. Rooms are clean and beautifully done. Its a good option if you want five star standard rooms at a reasonable price. There is a beautiful garden with varied colourful flowers and nice swimming pool to enjoy.

I went here expecting to see yaks and yetis. There were neither yaks nor yetis here. But the food was pretty great, the halls were spacious and the staff helpful. Even though they were not yetis on yaks, which I expected. Total false advertising but superior service.Oh and I lost an earphone here but that is on me I guess.

A great Hotel and a landmark in Kathmandu. Smooth check in/out, friendly and professional staff. Great ambiance throughout the Hotel. Well done in maintaining a lovely garden and lots of Nepalese Heritage items.Breakfast was a true treat, dinner at the Chimney restaurant was ok, nothing to boast about. Could have been better as first time served frozen Tiramisu 😱 and it was not supposed to be frozen!

Really lovely. Beautiful grounds and very clean rooms. Needs more seats by the pool area though. Also, the music from the event hall is still booming at 10.30pm which is a shame if you are coming to stay to relax and have some peace!

Yak and Yeti Hotel in Kathmandu is a luxury hotel known for its central location, traditional architecture, and great amenities. Guests enjoy the gardens, spacious rooms, and excellent service, though some areas may need updating. Overall, it's a comfortable and culturally rich stay.

I had a luxurious experience at this place. It's really good for hosting an event. Wide and spacious halls with beautiful decorations. The food was also good but I couldn't give all five stars because of the unmanaged and improper finishing for the two wheeler parking. A luxurious five star hotel like this should maintain a proper parking space for two wheelers also.

Finest 5 star hotel in the Capital Kathmandu. The entrance is grand, and the corridor that leads to Durbar hall is from the reception lounge filled with exotic items on display so the tour is not boring at all. Food is delicious and satisfying like home food .

I've had the pleasure of staying at the Yak and Yeti in the past, and each time, they never fail to amaze me with their professionalism and their genuinely friendly staff. From the top-tier management to the restaurant staff, cleaning team, gardeners, guards, and everyone in between, the level of service is simply outstanding. What makes the Yak and Yeti truly special is not just its impeccable service but also the unique atmosphere it offers. It's like an oasis right in the heart of bustling Kathmandu. The blend of history and art that envelops the premises is remarkable. It's a place that makes you feel like you're in a different world, and it's a reminder of the importance of preserving such special places. In a world that's increasingly turning to big-box hotels, the Yak and Yeti stands as a beacon of authenticity and charm. It's a place where tradition and modernity coexist harmoniously.I'd like to extend my gratitude and appreciation to all of the exceptional individuals who made my stay memorable. The staff is a testament to the Yak and Yeti's commitment to excellence. I hope we can continue to preserve and support these remarkable establishments instead of trading them in for larger, more impersonal hotels. The Yak and Yeti is a true gem, and I look forward to returning to its warm embrace in the future.Thank you, Yak and Yeti, for another unforgettable experience.Dirk Collins & Brittany Mumma

It’s a really nice hotel, but in absolutely no way is this a 5 star hotel. There are just too many things not working properly.First and foremost: INTERNET.If you are dependent on the internet of your hotel, do NOT come here. It keeps disconnecting randomly, is super unstable and painfully slow. (I’m surprised I was able to post this review using their internet)The rooms are quite pricey, lacking a good TV (no smart TV) and king size bed. The food and drinks are astronomically too expensive. I understand this place is high end and all but 20€ for a glass of wine is too much!Gym is okay, the door of the steam sauna was wide open when I entered the spa.Service is good. But…All in all, not worth the money.

This was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The level of attention to detail, in the design and decor of the rooms, is beautiful. Walking into my room took my breath away. The yard is beautiful and the common areas very pleasant. The staff makes the whole thing fantastic though. Hospitable and polite to a fault, it was a singular pleasure interacting with each of them.

This is my second trip to Kathmandu and when researching a hotel I do rely on reviews. In context, my first trip I stayed at a hotel that turned out was less than expected in Thamel but rated quite high. I booked Yak and Yeti because it was 5-stars and offered great value for a booking rate as compared to other 5-star hotels in the area. The hotel surpassed my expectations. The room was big, clean, comfortable, and the service from the staff was outstanding. From the high-quality dining options and dining staff at the hotel at The Spice Room, The Chimney, the bar, including the breakfast buffet to the beautiful, relaxing grounds, to the front desk staff (Prinshu, Pramish, Prasaana), to the bell staff, to the housekeeping staff, we are very happy we booked here. It has made our second trip to Nepal that more special! If I were to give one feedback, if the guests are taking a taxi from or to the hotel, confirm the price first because the taxi driver tried to gouge us but luckily we knew about how much the fare should be and paid that. However this hotel is very comfortable, with very attentive staff, and of great value for everything they offer. I would definitely stay here again.

One of the best place in mid town for events, program and business purposes. Halls are great however food quality was not good when I attended couple of events this year.

The place had an old-style decor, but it was beautiful. The service was good. However, the Wi-Fi and the air conditioning were poor. We stayed for two nights. Our sleep was disturbed due to a lot of noise coming from their lawns until 1 a.m. They allow parties on their lawns, which causes a lot of noise.

Today, my respect for this institution has significantly decreased. As a long-time guest at this hotel, I left today feeling cheated. The behavior I experienced was extremely disappointing for a hotel that is supposed to be well-respected in Kathmandu. I was charged 400 per hour for parking, which I ended up paying after a lengthy discussion with the staff and manager. This charge was imposed without any prior information or parking slip when I initially parked, except for a small sign specifying the rates, which seemed deliberately hidden from easy view.I understand that the hotel wants to reserve parking for its guests and prevent non-guests from using their premises. Had I been informed about this when I parked, I would have gladly taken my car elsewhere. If someone had given me a parking slip upon entering the premises, indicating the 400 per hour rate, I would have easily opted for Annapurna, which charges just 100 per hour. I doubt there are any other places in the area, or in all of Nepal, that charge such an exorbitant amount.Furthermore, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City has provided clear instructions for parking fees in private properties in the area, and this rate is significantly higher than that stipulated by the City. When I raised this issue with the guard and the manager, they told me that it is a five-star hotel and I should be ashamed to make an issue out of such a small amount. The amount is not the issue; it's a matter of fairness and principle. Simply providing a parking slip upon entry, or informing people about the rates when they park, would resolve this issue. It saddens me to see a hotel with a good reputation, such as Yak and Yeti, resort to such tactics to cheat customers for small amounts. Not clearly mentioning the rates upon entry and then ambushing customers with high fees upon exit is unacceptable. It's disheartening to witness how far such an institution has fallen.
